Is anyone else’s Instagram feed filled with people sharing their Starbucks orders for all things pumpkin, or is it just mine?
I have to be honest, and I know it isn’t a popular opinion, but I have not found a pumpkin drink from Starbucks that I enjoy…especially when I see the sugar content.
Now, I won’t lie, I have been known to make a batch of PSL in my crockpot, but there is always just something too sweet about it for me, so I decided to experiment, and have found the perfect combination for, well, ME.
All of the ingredients I use can be swapped out for what you have, but this is my favorite combo.
120ml Oat-ly Barista Blend Steamed/frothed
1 Tazo Pumpkin Spice chai tea bag
1/2 scoop of protein powder Mocha or Chocolate (the mocha in the brand I use is my favorite)
**Whipped topping (I did not have any on hand this day)
- Steep your tea bag in your cup of coffee for desired strength (I usually let mine in for about 4 minutes)
- Froth/blend your milk, cinnamon, and protein powder together ( I usually heat my milk and use a small handheld frother as seen above)
- Add to coffee
- Top with whipped topping (optional) and cinnamon
Honestly guys, not only is this SUPER #budgetfriendly, but it also is simple to make and has a LOT less sugar than most of your other options.
My version above has 130cal and 4g of sugar VS Starbucks with 380cal and 50g of sugar (with almond milk and no whip).
If you try this out, let me know what combo of items you use OR if you have a favorite PSL recipe, I would love to see it!
